About GUM & GLUE
The GUM & GLUE Co was born out of a love of music. Falmouth born entrepreneur Mark Oliver and his business partner Steve Verdin met at university in Portsmouth. It was there they formed their first band and saw the music industry through the eyes of performers. They gained valuable experience of working with venues and promoters, showing them how it was done, and perhaps more importantly how not to manage a gig! Since then they have both had considerable experience in organisational roles and event management.
Deciding to bring something new and exciting to the music scene in Cornwall has long since been an ambition for the pair and this August bank holiday event is a dream realised. A meticulous attention to detail characterises the way they work with health and safety at the forefront of their priorities. Not only will the Event Square gigs up the standard of entertainment on offer for residents it will be a huge boost for tourism, local business and the local music scene. GUM & GLUE will put Falmouth on the music map!
As musicians the GUM Co also produce their own range of stunning hand made guitars. A limited stock of these is currently available and more specific requirements can be produced to order.
About the venue
As the name would suggest Events Square is a fantastic site to hold any event. The imposing wooden structure of the National Maritime Museum will create a stunning backdrop for the stage. While you're enjoying the music thats on offer you'll be able to look out onto the boats in Falmouth bay and take in the fabulous harbour views. The rest of the square houses a number of restaurants, shops and bars. These will be open for snacks, meals and drinks during the gig.
